For true "more than eight" integration, one requires Core-wise changes, as changes to various windows (such as the "Move" or "Portrait" window) are very difficult non-core. However, even if the Core you are currently using does not have it implemented, you can still add any number of sims to a household using a mod such as SuperComputer. Cheers.
